What Form 650 corresponds to

Form 650 is the form used to declare an inheritance in Spain in situations where Spanish regulations require such a declaration.

Who files the declaration

In practice, the declaration is the responsibility of the heirs. It is not automatically carried out by the notary.

Deadlines to be observed

The declaration must be filed within the time limits applicable to the succession. Extension mechanisms may exist, but they are subject to strict conditions.

Payment and supporting documents

The filing of the declaration is accompanied, depending on the situation, by:

  • payment of any tax due,
  • submission of supporting documents and case-specific records.
