A notarial deed is a notarial document allowing to identify heirs as well as the part going to each of them. In Spain, it is signed in the town or city of the deceased's last residence or neighbouring town or city, in the presence of two witnesses who knew the deceased during his/her lifetime. It is only enforceable a month after its signature. In the presence of a registered will, the signature of a notarial deed is not necessary. The deed signed in the usual country of residence of the deceased is perfectly valid in Spain.
